About this walk

  1. From Willington car park cross the road at the traffic lights to the George Burdon McKean memorial between the Library and the children’s nursery and directly opposite the Co-op.  Follow the Brandon to Bishop Auckland railway path along a two-coloured tarmac path.  The path passes to the left of the primary school and across a road after which it becomes a single-track hardened path.  Keep right at a fork to a second road crossing in the village of Sunnybrow.
  2. Cross the road and continue on the Brandon to Bishop Auckland railway path and, after approximately half a mile,  passing a steep dip immediately before crossing the track at Rough Lea in the village of Hunwick.  Continue to the derelict New Monkey pub and car park at Hunwick Station.
  3. Return by the same route.
